Bushfire emergency information
Our school is located in a high risk bushfire area and will be closed on Catastrophic Fire Ban days.
It’s important that we’re all prepared for a bushfire emergency. Read the bushfire resources provided below and speak with your children about what will happen if a bushfire occurs at school.
On days declared Extreme Fire Risk we will utilise the Alert SA app for any notifications affecting our area. In the event we have to enact our Shelter in Place procedure our plan is to notify families via SMS as soon as possible. It is important that families DO NOT collect students until instructed to do so. Wait until you receive SMS and follow instructions. When you have been asked to collect your child, we also ask you assist with making sure your child is signed out.
On days declared CATASTROPHIC Fire Risk our School Closure Policy will come into effect. Declaration is typically made approximately at 4.30pm the day prior. Our plan is to notify families and staff of the school closure ASAP via SMS. No-one will be permitted on site, including staff.
We encourage all families living in bushfire prone areas to take time now to prepare a plan with your children for your home: bushfire season preparation advice for families.
